Started in 1983, in Trivandrum, Kerala by the H.G.
Philipos Mar Theophilus, MGRC is a community based
rehabilitation centre catering to the needs of various
kinds of challenged people. To love and guide the less
fortunate and to lead them from darkness to light, has
been our spiritual goal for the past 20 years. Our
divine mission has reached out to over hundreds of
helpless persons, by teaching, counselling, advising and
mentoring them, so as to enable them live and work in
their homes as dignified and participating members of
society. Our field workers are
better equipped to understand the various programmes
intended to make them self reliant, by giving them
personal and vocational training. Even though it has
been an overwhelming task, the fruits of our efforts
have been heartening.
We thank all our well wishers and governmental and non
governmental agencies, who whole heartedly supported and
sponsored various programmes of the centre. MGRC
wouldn’t have been possible without your assistance.
Now, due to a financial crunch, we are looking for more
outside sources to help us continue our activities. With
a promise of a better tomorrow, we continue to be of
service to the community to
enable them to see challenged persons as individuals
with special abilities.
Man always, dreams of building a strong foundation for
a bright future. Standards are set high and our skills are
used to achieve perfection in order to create something
beautiful and abundant for future generations to enjoy.
We are fortunate, to have the wisdom to deal with the
good and bad, which are part of life itself. Each day
gives us new reasons to thank god for all the good
fortune, which we understand is a divine sign of his
blessing. We have a moral responsibility to give
something back, in appreciation of what we have,
according to our capacity.
It is painful to know, that there is a world out there,
which is so different from ours in many ways. A world of
darkness, where the mentally, physically, emotionally
and economically challenged people feel insecure of their future. Life’s harsh experiences have
taught them to live in constant fear and rejection by
society and they fail to recognize their own strengths.
How does one respond to all this unhappiness and misery
that surrounds them? How can we bring hope into their
lives. Charity has only one divine meaning.
